Car and Bike Transport Preparation Checklist
Vehicle transportation needs a different handover process from household goods. Confirm carrier availability, prepare the vehicle and record its condition before pickup so both parties have a clear reference at delivery.
Documents and Booking Details
- Keep copies of the registration certificate and the owner's identity document available as requested.
- Confirm whether an authorization letter is needed when someone other than the registered owner hands over or receives the vehicle.
- Share working phone numbers for pickup and delivery contacts.
- Ask whether the vehicle will travel by carrier, enclosed option or another approved arrangement.
- Confirm pickup, expected transit range, delivery process and payment stages in writing.
Prepare the Vehicle
- Remove cash, documents, loose accessories and personal belongings unless specifically accepted in writing.
- Keep only the fuel level requested by the carrier and report leaks or mechanical issues before handover.
- Check tyre pressure, battery condition and alarm settings; provide only the required keys.
- Fold or remove vulnerable accessories where appropriate and disclose aftermarket modifications.
- Wash enough dirt away to make existing scratches and dents visible in photographs.
Condition Record at Pickup
- Photograph all sides, odometer, fuel level and visible marks in good light.
- Note loose parts, warning lights or existing damage on the handover record.
- Record the carrier or pickup vehicle details provided for the booking.
Delivery Inspection
- Compare the vehicle with pickup photos before signing the final acknowledgement.
- Check keys, accessories, odometer and visible condition.
- Report a concern promptly with photographs and preserve all documents.
